Photography, for me, begins with attention—slowing down long enough to truly see what’s often overlooked.
I’ve been drawn to photography for more than 30 years, with the past 15 spent working professionally. What began as curiosity became a lifelong craft: a way to preserve moments, explore place, and create imagery that feels honest, calm, and timeless. My work is guided by natural light, subtle shadow, and thoughtful composition, allowing each photograph to unfold with intention rather than force.
I live in Centennial, Colorado with my wife, Janna. We spend much of our time outdoors—walking, traveling, and seeking out national and state parks wherever our journeys lead. Those travels, across the United States and to 15 different countries, have shaped how I see the world and how I photograph it.
My photography spans clean, natural real estate imagery; relaxed, authentic portraits; and fine art work exploring landscapes, urbanscapes, travel, and wildlife. Across every genre, I’m drawn to scenes that feel quietly powerful—spaces filled with light and flow, moments of stillness in nature, or genuine expressions that reveal connection.
I approach photography as both an artist and an observer, allowing light to guide the story and shadow to add depth. Whether photographing close to home or far from it, my goal remains the same: to create images that feel natural, refined, and lasting.

Duane and his wife Janna have shared 13 years of marriage built on love, laughter, and a deep sense of partnership. Together, they embrace life as an ongoing journey—one shaped by curiosity, connection, and meaningful experiences. Travel is at the heart of their story, carrying them across the United States and around the world, where they seek out culture, history, nature, and quiet moments worth remembering. Whether standing before ancient architecture or wandering small towns and wild places, they move through the world side by side. Their relationship is grounded in mutual support, shared wonder, and a love that continues to grow with every mile traveled.
